This book is a must read for anyone who wants to understand today's emotional issues, whether they desire to help themselves or friends and family. It's very readable and reveals the inner working of an unaffirmed individual. This author has great wisdom- a truly remarkable man.

eye opening September 14, 2009 Faith driven (TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a very little known disorder that is probably affecting countless of people. This book
explains the disorder and enlightens the reader about how it affects the person suffering from it. I finally had an answer to the behavior of my loved one, prior to reading Healing the Unaffirmed I didn't understand what was happening. I highly recommend it to anyone.
A very important book. April 10, 2007 G. Campbell 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
After reading this book, I have greater insight into my own weakness as well as better understanding other friends and family members. Once you better understand these things you are better able to grow and heal. This is a very important book. Many people have noticed a positive change in me since I have read and put into practice the principles in this book. I keep extra copies on hand for people who want to know why and how I have changed for the better.
Conrad Baars offers excellent insight for all pastors and counselors July 3, 2006 Adam L. Hertzfeld 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
"Healing the Unaffirmed" by Dr. Conrad Baars offers excellent insights for all pastors and counselors. Dr. Baars' approach to the human person is entirely compatible with Christian anthropology, and provides practical steps toward working with those individuals who are the victims of our increasingly depersonalized society. Since alienation and emotional detachment will continue to harm family and community life for some time to come, Dr. Baars' work will not cease to grow in relevance.
